High School Art: Final Project, Artist Chairs

For their final project, High School Art students painted a wooden chair in the style of a master artist.

Middle School Art: 3-D Master Paintings

Each student in Middle School Art chose a landscape painted by a master artist from art history.  They researched their chosen artist and looked carefully at one of their landscapes, noticing the color, composition and brush stokes.  Students then created a 3-dimensional representation of the landscape using a diorama box, cardstock and acrylic paints.

Sacred Art Workshop: In the Style of Georges Rouault

Students studied the life and work of Christian artist, Georges Rouault.  They learned that Rouault spent time as an apprentice to a stained glass artist and that this experience profoundly influenced his work.  The students responded by creating landscapes inspired by Rouault's stained-glass like paintings, using tempera paint.
